Tiger Beetles are fearsome predators, if you're one inch tall. They are active, diurnal and commonly seen in sandy areas and along trails. Their larvae ambush prey from tunnels in the ground.

In the US you can find green or brown Tiger Beetles, probably of the same genus as the one from Madagascar.
