The Perinet Reserve at an elevation of about 1000 m (3300ft) east of Antananarivo is the easiest place to see and hear Indri Lemurs. They are found also outside the small 810 hectare (2002 acres) reserve, but the surrounding area is becoming fragmented and deforested.
