The Cutting Edge

Volume XX, Number 1, January 2013

News and Notes | Leaps and Bounds | Germane Literature | Season's Pick | Annotate your copy

MORACEAE. “Isla del Coco” may be deleted from the distribution summary of Ficus maxima Mill. (see under “Leaps and Bounds”).

ORCHIDACEAE. While concocting our review of a minor paper (see Germane Literature, under “Pérez-Escobar”), we stumbled onto an inexplicable error in the Manual treatment of this family:  “Stellilabium lankesteri (Ames) L. O. Williams,” used as an accepted name and cited as having been published in Brittonia 14: 446 (1962), simply does not exist; only S. standleyi (Ames) L. O. Williams was validated on the indicated page.  The correct citation is:  Stellilabium lankesteri (Ames) Dressler, Novon 7: 124.  1997 (though all Stellilabium spp. have lately been transferred to Telipogon).
