Fragments from the Botanical Frontier:

ARKANSAS
Ernest Jesse Palmer (1875-1962), of the Arnold Arboretum and the Missouri Botanical Garden, wrote to Demaree in 1932 that his list of ligneous flora of Arkansas would be "one of the most complete and correct state list[s] up to date." Note Demaree's dated notes on this leter as late as 1972. Later Palmer mourned that the Arboretum had few finances for field trips at that time, references to the Depression occur in most correspondence of the time. Hunt Insititute collections.
