The Cutting Edge

Volume XXIX, Number 3, July 2022

News and Notes | Leaps and Bounds | Germane Literature | Season's Pick | Global Range Extensions

Sciadocephala dressleri R. M. King & H. Rob. (Asteraceae) was suggested to us by Manual collaborator Mario Blanco (USJ) as a good candidate for this column way back in May of this year. The photos he provided were taken by Diego Salas at the Reserva Veragua Rainforest (Las Brisas de Matina, Prov. Limón).

Diego apparently began documenting the vascular flora of the reserve in late April, making the voucher for this sp. his first collection (D. Salas-Solano 1, USJ) and starting with a bang!We expect he will find many more such rare and interesting spp. as he continues explorations the area.Mario informs us that the vouchers for this study will all be deposited at USJ. Thanks Mario, and more power to you Diego!
