A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

vulneratus,-a,-um (part.A): wounded, injured, damaged [> L. vulnero, 1. to wound, injure, harm]; see injured, wounded;

- [Guajacum] resina ex trunco vulnerato copiose defluit, indurata legitur ab incolis (Swartz), the resin pours down abundantly from the trunk when wounded, when it is hardened, it is collected by the natives.

- habemus varietatem majore robore insignem, etiam minus crebro vulneratam (S&A), we consider the variety significant by the greater physical strength, also less frequently damaged.

- [term] Resina est liquor pinguis & oleaginosus ex arbore seu sponte seu ea vulnerata destillans, quae in aqua non dissolvitur sed in oleo duntaxat, &c flammam facile concipit (Ray), resin is a fatty and oleaginous liquid substance distilling (i.e. dripping] from a tree either spontaneously or when it is wounded, which is not dissolved in water but only in oil, and easily produces a flame.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
