A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Viride,-is (s.n.II), abl. sg. viride: green color, greenness, verdure; a green thing, of plants, trees, shrubs.

viridi-: in L. comp., green;

- viridialbus, greenish-white; viridiflorus, green-flowered.

viridescens,-entis (part.B); becoming green.

viridanus,-a,-um (adj.A): viridian-green (H.C.C. 55).

Viridia,-arum (pl.f.I), abl. sg. viridiis: green plants, herbs or trees.

viridis,-e (adj.B), superl. viridissimus,-a,-um (adj.A): green, q.v.

Hookeria laete-virens, with leaves described as 'deep green.'
