vindicate (Eng.verb): to clear someone of suspicious or blame, to liberate, free, redeem; to show or prove to be right or justified, substantiate, establish, ratify, authenticate, confirm, corroborate, verify, endorse.

Occid. i. 78) vindicatae, melius inter Eusilenes militantur (B&H), the species, including a very few with petals dentate or laciniate recently justified for distinct [i.e. separate] genera (Willk. Ic. Pl. Eur. Occid. i. 78), are better served among the Eusilenes.
