Villa,-ae (s.f.I), abl. sg. villa: a country-house, farm, villa; see farm; see latifundium,-ii (s.n.II).

- in Castanearum, & Аbietum corticibus per Falterona Моntem, nec non in saltu Regiae Рratolini Villae ad Cerros (Mich.), on the barks of Castanea trees, and Firs throughout Falterone Mountain, also on [Quercus cerris] in the ravine-land of the Royal Villa [i.e. estate] of Pratolinus.

- in Ilicibus, tum in Regio viridario Boboli, tum in ampla semita villae Podii Imperialis perennat (Mich.), it lasts years on Ilexes, once in the Royal garden of Boboli, then again on the big path of the Imperial Villa [i.e. estate] of Podium.

Villa rustica (countryside villa) “was the term used by the ancient Romans to denote a villa set in the open countryside, often as the hub of a large agricultural estate (latifundium).
