- semina laevia, strophiolata (B&H), seeds smooth, strophiolate.

- semen horizontale, basi strophiolo bilobo auctum (B&H), the seed horizontal, at the base enlarged with a two-lobed strophiole.

- gemmulae in unoquoque lóculo circiter 8, funiculo brevissimo in strophiolam laceram dilátato affixae (F. Mueller), the ovules in each locule around 8, attached by a very short, dilated funiculus into a lacerated stropiole.

- semina orbiculata, albuminosa, strophiolo minimo v. 0.— (B&H), the seeds orbiculate, albuminous, with the strophile minute or none.

- semina subglobosa v. a latere compressa, subreniformia, testa nitida, funiculo in strophiolum expanso (B&H), the seeds nearly globose or compressed from the side, nearly kidney-shaped, with the seedcoat shining, with the funicle expanded into a stophiole [i.e. an appendage to the hilum of the seed].

- semina obovoidea, ad hilum laterale strophiola carnosa aucta (B&H), seeds obovoid, increased at the lateral hilum with a fleshy strophiole.

- funiculus interdum in arillum parvum v. crasso-carnosum v. seminis basin excipientem v. semen fere totum involventem expansus, v. a strophiolo carnoso hilo adhaerente articulatim secedens (B&H), the funiculus sometimes into a small or thickly fleshy aril or prolong the base of the seed or [when] expanded enveloping almost the entire seed, or articulatedly [i.e. in joints or nodes] separating from a fleshy strophiole adhering to the hilum.

- seminum strophiolum in nullo alio inter Hedysareas obvium (B&H), a stophiole of the seeds is encountered in no other among the Hydysareae.

NOTE: the stophiole may also be laciniate:

- seminum strophiola laciniata (B&H), the stophioles of the seeds laciniate.

NOTE: in B&H the stophiole may be the equivalent of the arillode:

- semina crassa, saepe arillata v. strophiolo (arillodio) fulta (B&H), the seeds thick, often supported by an aril or strophiole (arillodium).
