A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

omnino (adv.): altogether, completely, entirely, wholly; throughout; cf. ubique 'everywhere, throughout'; see completely; opp. partim (adv.), partially, partly; parum (adv.), somewhat;

- interdum omnino desunt, sometimes they are completely absent.

- An planta Americana omnino eadem ac Sibirica? (DeCandolle), perhaps the American plant is altogether the same as the Siberian one?

- habitus omnino Pelrocallidis pyrenaicae (Boissier), the habit altogether of Petrocallis pyrenaica.

- rhizinis ramosis, partim deciduis, omnino papillosis, with rhizines branched, partially deciduous, everywhere papillose.

- sepalis a papillis acutis omnino obtectis, with sepals by sharp papillae completely covered.

- pistillodio plerumque omnino evoluto, with the pistillodium usually completely developed.

- spadix omnino fertilis, spadix completely fertile.

- vaginae interdum omnino diffluentes, sheaths sometimes entirely dissolving.

- capsula ab calyptra pilosa omnino obtecta, with capsule by the calyptra hairy entirely covered.

- omnino habitus Moricandiae arvensis DC sed abunde distincta foliis radicalibus rosulatis (Boissier), the habit of Moricandia arvensis completely, but most sufficiently distinct by the basal leaves rosulate.

- stipitibus et laminisque et squamis marginalibus omnino longioribus, with stipes and laminae and marginal scales in all longer.

- habitu, statione, tempore &c. Dianthera quidem a Justicia quodammodo differt, charactere vero floris essentiali omnino convenit, ideoque inter Justicias collocanda (Swartz), at least by the habit, station [i.e. habitat], season &c., Dianthera differs in a certain way from Justicia, yet certainly by the essential character of the flower it thoroughly agrees, therefore it is to be placed among the Justicias.

- ENEMION, species unica Boreali-Americana a caeteris Isopyris non differt nisi petalis omnino deficientibus (B&H), Enemion, a single North-American species does not differ from the other Isopyrum ones except by the petals completely wanting.

- flores in India occidentali semper triandri, quales etiam in Anglia frequentissime occurrunt, ideoque omnino Holostei est species, cujus generi apte adjungitur (Swartz), the flowers in western India always triandrous [i.e. with three stamens], of the kind that also most frequently occur in England, and for this reason the species is altogether one of Holosteum, to the genus of which it is appropriately joined.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
