Corticium,-ii (s.n.II), abl.sg. corticio: a genus of fungi [> L. cf. cortex,-icis (s.m.III), abl. sg. cortice: bark, cortex or substantial outer layer];

- Thelephora, group C. Corticia (S&A): [fungus] [Thelephora marginata]: Corticium elegans, praeclare distinctum: biunciale fere, medio crassum, carnosum, succulentum, margine fibrosum siccum (S&A), an elegant Corticium, very clearly set off: almost two inches, thick in the middle, fleshy, succulent, fibrous at the margin, dry.

- [Peziza amorpha; fungus] totus fungorum grex Corticium quoddam rimoso-lacerum haud inepte aemulatur (S&A), the entire group of fungi not unreasonably resembes a fissured-lacerate sort of Corticium.

Corticium,-ii (s.n.II), Pers., abl.sg. Corticio; a genus of crust fungi [Corticiaceae]; Corticium (Thelephoraceae), a fungus genus: e.g. Corticium salmonicolor; C. amorphum, C. incrustans.

Corticium,-ii (s.n.II), Schmidt, abl.sg. Corticio; a genus of marine sponges [Plakinidae].

Dentocorticium,-ii (s.n.II): poroid fungi in the family Polyporaceae, once a section of Laeticorticium; Corticiaceae.

XLVII. 289. CORTICIUM. Persoon. ‘Bark-ear.’ Thallus spread, attached by its back, nipply.

[=] Corticium quercinum. Oak bark-ear. Thallus attached lengthways, leatherlike, wrinkly, rather fleshy; edge somewhat turned in; beneath brown.

[=] Auricularia corticalis, Withering Arr. 4,377.

[=] Thelephora quercina, Persoon Syn. 573. On the branches of oak-trees. S. Gray
