coronans,-antis (part.B): crowning, “situated on the top of anything. Thus, the limb of the calyx may crown an ovary; a gland at the apex of the filament may crown a stamen” (Lindley); “crowning, seated on the apex” (Jackson) [> L. corono,-avi,-atum, 1., to crown, wreathe, to provide a garland or crown; “to surround,encompass, enclose something in a circular form, to wreathe” (Lewis & Short);

coronantur: third-person plural present passive indicative: they are crowned;

- semina, omnia fertilîa , membranulâ, coronantur (Necker), the seeds all fertile, crowned with a small membrane.

- pappus, quo semína coronantur, setaceus (Necker), the pappus, by which the seeds are crowned, bristle-like.

- semina omnia fertilia: singula denticulis coronantur (Necker), seeds all fertile: each one crowned with small teeth [singula (neuter plural modifies semina).

- pappus, paleis 2, persistentibus semina coronans (Necker), pappus with two persistent palea wreathing [i.e. crowning] the seeds.

- pappus semina coronans, pilosus (Necker), pappus wreathing [i.e. crowning] the seeds, long-haired.

- [Helianthus] pappus, paleis 2, persistentibus semina coronans (Necker), the pappus with two paleae [i.e. membranous scales], persisting, crowning the seeds.

- pappus semina coronans paleis munitus (Necker), the pappus crowning the seeds, armed [i.e. provided with] paleae.

- pappo achenam coronante (Necker), with the pappus crowning [i.e. situated on top of] the achene.

- perigynandà semen coronante (Necker), with the involucre crowning [i.e. situated on top of] the seed.

- dentibus baccas geminas coronantibus (Necker), with the teeth crowning the doubled berries.

- pappus , plumosus achenam coronans (Necker), the pappus plumose, wreathing [i.e. crowning] the achene.
