A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
arboreus,-a,-um (adj.A): arboreous, of or pertaining to trees; tree-like; tending to be woody; see also arborescent, bushy, frutescent, see fruticose, subshrubby, suffrutescent, suffruticose, woody-clumping; see forested;

- folia arborea, tree leaves.

- habitu arboreo vel frutescenti, with an arboreal or shrubby habit, with a tree- or shrub-habit.

- coma arborea, tree-leaves.

- amplitudine arborea, with the size of a tree.

- frondes arboreae, the leaves of trees, tree-leaves.

- [Rhizophoraceae:] species ad 50, omnes intertropicae, multae littora limosa ad aestuaria fluviorum vegetatione arborea insalubri dense obumbrant (B&H), species to 50, all within the tropics, many densely overshadowing muddy shores at the aestuaries of rivers with unhealthy arboreal vegetation .

Chiococca arborea Lozada-Pérez, the epithet alludes to the tree-like habit; Vaccinium arboreum a bush that is 'tree-like.'
