appendiculatus,-a,-um (adj.A): appendiculate, “furnished with appendages; accessory organs, or expansions, of any sort” (Lindley); furnished with an appendage, with small appendages, hanging in small fragments; “having appendages, such as a crown, crest, or hairs” (Stearn 1996); (in mosses) with short, transverse projections, used in reference to the cilia of the endostome, “with short, thin, transverse projections” (Magill 1990); (in fungi) “furnished with appendages; (of the margin of the pileus) hung with the fragments of the veil or the pellicle” (S&D); see dactylatus,-a,-um (adj.A); cf. nodosus,-a,-um (adj.A), nodulosus,-a,-um (adj.A); cf. trabeculate;

- vexillum supra unguem brevem intus nudum, v. callosum, v. rarius auriculis inflexis appendiculatum (B&H), the vexillum above the short claw inside naked, or hard-thickened, or more rarely appendaged with inflexed auricles.

- peristomium interius ciliis appendiculatis, inner peristome with appendiculate cilia.

- margo primo reliquiis volvae partialis albis appendiculatis armatus; the margin at first armed with the remains, white, appendiculate, of the partial veil.

- semina apice ad chalazam appendicula (B&H), seeds at the apex appendiculate to the chalaza.

- calyx lobis basi glandulosis v. appendiculatis, the calyx with lobes at the base with glands or appendages.

not appendiculate: exappendiculatus,-a,-um (adj.A), non appendiculatus,-a,-um (adj.A), inappendiculatus,-a,-um (adj.A);

- appendiculis nullis (abl.pl.): with no appendiculae;

- semina exappendiculata, seeds not appendiculate.

- styli ramis linearibus, obtusi, inappendiculati, styles with linear branches, obtuse, inappendiculate.

- stamina libera, exappendiculata v. basi subappendiculata, stamens free, without appendages or somewhat appendaged at the base.
