A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Traiectum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. traiecto, a river crossing, ferry, bridge [> L. traiectus,-us (s.m.IV), “a crossing-place; a ferry (-service)” (Glare) > traicio,-ieci,-ectum 3.: to place, e.g. a bridge, across a river, to cross over]. Ultraiectum, to cross beyond, over = Utrecht.

NOTE: Rhenus,-i (s.m.II), acc.sg. Rhenum, abl.sg. Rheno; locative Rheni: the Rhine river.

Traiectum ad Rhenum sive Ultraiectum = Utrecht (Netherlands).

- Ex off. Fr. Halmae 1696; Trajecti ad Rhenum; from the [bookshop/printing-place] of Francois Halma 1696; at Utrecht [i.e. the bridge] on the Rhine [River].

NOTE: Francois Halma (Utrecht), publisher/printer; dealer/auction house; Dutch 1653-1722. Trajecti = locative case.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
