(Malvaceae) —not because he took the photos, but because he gave us a rooted cutting (vouchered by J. E. Jiménez 4558 , USJ; Guanacaste, Santa Cecilia de La Cruz) sometime last year, which flowered in Hammel's greenhouse right on cue for this issue. We have always considered that this would be a nice one to have in cultivation as an ornamental, so now that the rains have begun, pronto it'll be going from the pot to yard, to see how it does.
