(Cleomaceae), the other the grand Cordia megalantha S.F. Blake (Boraginaceae). The few known Costa Rican specimens (Burger et al. 11873; Hammel & Pérez 27321; Kriebel 2708) of this sp. are all from the south slope of Volcán Barva or nearby, above 1400 m elevation, and almost in cloud forest—not the sort of place one might expect to find this African introduction (a true Cleome sensu stricto), otherwise known from relatively low elevations. Could it be that we got the determination wrong!? Photos vouchered by Hammel & Pérez 27321.
