Plants of northwestern Yunnan: Spring-fed tufa pool looking east

Location: Bai Shui Tai
Traveling northwest to Zhongdian, we stopped at the fascinating tufa terraces of Bai Shui Tai. Calcium-rich spring water has been re-depositing limestone to form the terraces, probably over millennia. This is the shallow pool above the terraces.
