Habitat: Rivers

Seasonally flooded sand plains at the junction of three black-water rivers, Ríos Temi, Guasacavi, and Atacavi, in southern Amazonas state. These poorly known habitats remain flooded up to nine months a year. Several new species such as Anaxagorea inundata (Annonaceae) have recently been described. The wispy shrubs are mostly Licania savannarum (Chrysobalanaceae), and the herbs include an undescribed species of Xyris (Xyridaceae).
