The Cutting Edge

Volume XI, Number 1, January 2004

News and Notes |Recent Treatments | Leaps and Bounds | Germane Literature | Season's Pick | Annotate your copy

HERE FOR THE LONG HAUL. Manual Ericaceae co-contributor James L. Luteyn (NY) has been resident at MO for a few months now, and plans to be here for another two months, for the express purpose of polishing off several floristic treatments he has had in progress (including ours).

VISITOR FROM MEXU. Student of Cestrum (C. irazuense Kuntze and relatives) Juan Carlos Montero Castro (MEXU), was in the country from 8--21 Jan., working in herbaria and collecting for his doctoral work.

VISITOR FROM COSTA RICA. Indefatigable INB curator Francisco Morales traveled to Colombia and Ecuador during the last two weeks of October, studying in the herbaria of El Valle (CUVC, TULV, VALLE) and Quindío (HUQ), in the former country, and Quito (Q, QCA, QCNE, QPLS), in the latter. He worked mainly on Araliaceae, Proteaceae and miscellaneous Apocynaceae for his Manual treatments and other projects.

NEW FEATURE. Look to the very end of this issue of The Cutting Edge for our newest feature, "Annotate Your Copy," compiling significant corrections to already-published volumes of the Manual.
