Volume XIII, Number 2, April 2006

News and Notes | Leaps and Bounds | Germane Literature | Season's Pick

SIPARUNACEAE.  Siparuna conica S. S. Renner & Hausner, previously known from central Panama to Ecuador, has turned up in Costa Rica, at 1150–1200 m elevation in the southern Fila Costeña (Fila Cruces, near the Jardín Botanico Wilson).  The specimen was gathered by veteran Costa Rican field biologist Isidro Chacón (#102, USJ).  The determination was made by Manual collaborator Jorge Gómez-Laurito (USJ), to whom we are indebted for this report.
