Plants of northwestern Yunnan: Jinsha Jiang in the Tiger Leap Gorge

The next day we traveled north from Jianchuan and met the Jinsha Jiang (upper Yangtze river), which is eventually squeezed between the steep flanks of the Tiger Leap Gorge. Until recently this was a very wild place without a road. Most of the eastern bank is still pristine, with bamboo scrub and patches of trees on the steep slopes and ledges.
