Culture: Gabonese family

Families are traditionally large, though the population is low (1 million people). Oral geneologies are passed down generations…Leonard Ndong (adult sitting in front row) can cite back 15 generations. Once a potential mate is found, geneologies are recounted to be sure that the couple is not related.
