Madidi 3: Cereus (Cactaceae)

Cereus, cactaceae arborea que crece imponente dentro el bosque seco. Existen unas 40 especies de Cereus en el Caribe y Sudamerica, aunque el numero exacto varia segun los autores. Generalmente son altos y columnares. Las flores son por lo general grandes, blancas y tienen forma de embudo. El fruto es de color rojo o amarillo, generalmente comestible y las semillas son de color negro.
