Wind: ventus,-i (s.m.II), abl. sg. vento; see whirlwind; see anemo-, in Gk. comp.;

- ventus typhonicus (adj.A), a typhoon wind.

- venti tropaei, “blowing from the sea towards the land, sea breezes” (Lewis & Short) [tropaeus,-a,-um (adj.A) = Gk. tropaios: turning back, returning].

a breeze, a slight wind: ventulus,-I (s.m.II), abl. sg. ventulo.

full of wind, windy, puffed up: ventosus,-a,-um (adj.A).

wind-: in Gk. comp., anemo-, pertaining to the wind [> Gk. anemos, s.m.II, a wind; Lat. ventus].

wind-disseminated, anemochorous: anemochorus,-a,-um (adj.A), anemochoricus,-a,-um (adj.A); see anemochorous.

Wind-flower: a common name attributed to species of the genus Anemone, falsely assumed to be cognate with the Greek word 'anemos', a wind; see Anemone.

wind-pollinated: anemophilus,-a,-um (adj.A), q.v.
