vulgaris,-e (adj.B), vulgatus,-a,-um (part.A): common, general, ordinary; common, usual; simple, plain; commonly known; compar. vulgatior (m.f.) vulgatius (n.), more common; superl: vulgatissimus,-a,-um (adj.A); see common;

- Нujusce feminae folium varios expetuntur usus, Fabri sellarii ad vulgares sellas texendas (Mich.), of this [i.e. Cyperoides], they seek after the leaf of the female [i.e.plant] for various uses, the chair-makers for plaiting common [i.e. simple, plain chairs [i.e. seats].

- [Phascum] per totam Europam temperatam sed nusquam vulgare (C. Muell.), throughout the whole of temperate Europe but nowhere common.

- [fungi] species admodum vulgaris ligna cariosa putrida, inprimis pinea et abiegna, ubique incolit agmine denso (S&A), a species altogether common, it dwells everywhere, especially in [cf. locis] piny and firy places [i.e. in pine and fir-woods] in a dense multitude.

- amat species vulgaris pratorum ac pascuorum sicciora, gramine tenui vestita (S&A), the common species loves the drier places of meadows and pastures, [these] clothed with a thin grass.

- [BUNIUM MACUCA] nomen specificum ex nomine vulgari depromptum (Boiss.), the specific [i.e. species] name taken from the common name.

Agrostis vulgaris, Aquilegia vulgaris, Artemisia vulgaris; the mushrooms Auriscalpium vulgare, Crucibulum vulgare.
