A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
viridis,-e (adj.B), superl. viridissimus,-a,-um (adj.A): green, q.v.;

- perigonii segmentis elliptico-linearibus extus vitta lata viridi notatis, tribus exterioribus apice subcarinatis (Boissier), with the segments of the perigonium elliptic-linear, outside with marked with a broad green stripe, with the three outer somewhat crested at the apex.

Hookeria laete-virens, with leaves described as 'deep green.'
viridis,-e (adj.B), virescens,-entis (part.B); viridescens,-entis (part.B), “a shade of clear green but not so bright as grass-green” (Lindley); superl. viridissimus,-a,-um (adj.A): green, q.v.;

- perigonii segmentis elliptico-linearibus extus vitta lata viridi notatis, tribus exterioribus apice subcarinatis (Boissier), with the segments of the perigonium elliptic-linear, outside with marked with a broad green stripe, with the three outer somewhat crested at the apex.

grass-green: “clear, lively green, without any mixture” (Lindley);

Hookeria laete-virens, with leaves described as 'deep green.'
