violaceus,-a,-um (adj.A): violet colored (H.C.C. 36); violaceus refers to the blue-red colors nearer blue, purpureus nearer red (Stearn 1983); ); (fungi) “of a violet hue; S II, 47 is Dull Bluish Violet (3) (R XXVI and MP 43 G 7); ‘ianthine’” (S&D);

- [lichen] gelatina hymenea iodo intense coerulescens, dein violaceo- obscurata (Nyl.), the hymenial gelatin in iodine intensely blue, finally violaceous-darkened.

rubello-violaceus,-a,-um (adj.A): reddish-violet.

Oxalis violacea: the violet wood sorrel;

- limbus corollae in aestivatione ruber, sub anthesi violaceus et priusquam corolla decidit caeruleus, limb of corolla in bud red, at anthesis violet and before the corolla falls blue.
