A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
vimineus,-a,-um (adj.A): having long flexible shoots, as of many Osiers (Willows); used for wicker-work; - [Moriera] — herbae basi lignosae v. suffrutices ramosissimi, interdum aphylli; ramulis vimineis, nunc spinescentibus (B&H), herbs woody at the base or very much branched subshrubs, sometimes lacking leaves; with the branchlets vimineous, sometimes spinescent. - Bidens scandens: caule scandente fruticoso [with a climbing, shrubby [i.e. woody] stem]; Bidens suffruticosus, vimineus (Swartz); [Bidens subshrub, vimineous [i.e. with long, flexible shoots]; caulis fruticosus, subscandens, vimineus [the stem shrubby, somewhat climbing, vimineous [the stem like a willow (osier)]. Aster vimineus Lam. osier-like, 'its branches like a sprig of osier' Lam. (Fernald 1950); Diplotaxis viminea; Satureja viminea; Streptanthus vimineus (Greene) Al-Shehbaz & W. D. Taylor; Urena viminea.
