vid.: abbrev. for 3d pers. pres. pass. indic. [sg.] videtur 'he, she, it seems' [pl.] videntur 'they seem, they appear;'

- Pet. 3 in tubum conniventia. Filam. 6, petalis arcte adplicita unde vid. epipetala (DeCandolle), petals (petala) 3, fused into a tube. Filaments [filamenta], 6, closely placed upon the petals for which reason they appear epipetalous.
vid.: abbrev. for ‘vide,’ = second-person singular present active imperative of videō; ‘see!’;

NOTE: see ‘v.’: = vide, a command: 'see;'
