vertically (adv.): recte (adv.), directo (adv.), verticaliter (adv.), ad lineam, ad perpendiculum;'

- ostiolis lateraliter vel recte insertis, with ostiola laterally or vertically inserted.

- calyptrae pars superior rarissime verticaliter erecta absque ulla declinatione inuenitur (Bridel), the upper part of the calyptra is very rarely found vertically erect lacking any declination [i.e. bending from the vertical].

- [fungi; a caption to plate I: Piso1ithus arenarius] exemplum mediocre basi abruptum a) integrum; (b) verticaliter sectum (S&A), specimen average-size, broken off at the base (a) entire; (b) sectioned vertically.
