ventral-intercalary branching, in leafy liverworts “loosely used for any ventral branch formed well below the apex; branches not associated with a modified underleaf and usually with a collar at the base. Except for the rare Acromastigium-type branch, all ventral branches in liverworts are intercalary branches” (Magill 1990): ramificatio,-onis (s.f.III) ventrali-intercalaris (adj.B), ventrali-intercalarius,-a,-um (adj.A); ventraliter (adv.) intercalaris,-e; see intercalary;

- ramificatio districtim ventraliter intercalaris, branching strictly ventral intercalary.

- ramificans saepissime laterali- atque ventrali-intercalariter, branching nearly always lateral- and ventral-intercalary.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
