A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
ursinus,-a,-um (adj.A): like or pertaining to a bear.

Lentinellus ursinus, a mushroom, perhaps in allusion to the densely hairy cap, like a bear.

ursinus,-a,-um (adj.A): like or pertaining to a bear; “”like a bear, in shagginess or other respects. Also, sometimes, Northern (from the Great Bear constellation” (Stearn 1996).

Lentinellus ursinus, a mushroom, perhaps in allusion to the densely hairy cap, like a bear.

Actinea ursina, Aster ursinus, Erigeron ursinus, Hieracium ursinum (Compositae); Allocaryastrum ursinum; Echidiocarya ursina; Echinospermum ursinum; Hackelia ursina (Boraginaceae).

NOTE: not the genus Ursinia,-ae (s.f.I), which is named after “Johannes Heinrich Ursinus (1608-1667) of Regensburg, a German botanical author. Compositae” (Stearn 1996).
