A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Uredium (-inium,-osorus), a sorus producing the summer spores (urediospores) of fungi of the Uredinales: uredium,-ii (s.n.II), abl. sg. uredio; uredinium,-ii (s.n.II), abl. sg. uredinio, uredosorus,-i (s.m.II), abl. sg. uredosoro: "the crowded usually yellow or brownish aggregation of spore-bearing hyphae and urediospores of a rust forming pustules or sori that become exposed by rupture of the host's cuticle or epidermis beneath which they develop" (WIII);

- urediniis amphigenis, with the uredia amphigenous (on both sides of the leaf).

- teliis hypophyllis, urediniis adsociatis, with the telia hypophyllous, associated with the uredinia.

- urediniis per porum centrale apertis, with the uredinia opened through (by) a

central pore.

- uredosori conformes sed obscuriores, brunnei, compacti (Stearn), the uredosori similar [to the teleutosori] but less conspicuous, brown, compact.
