A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin


Typonym, a basionym based on the same type but published independently and not by transfer (Ainsworth & Bisby) following Donk (Bull. Bot. Gard. Buitenzorg, Ser. 3, 18, 274, 1949); “a name based on an indicated type specimen, not on a diagnosis or description” (Radford et al. 1974): typonymum,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. typonymo, nom. & acc. pl. typonyma, dat. & abl. pl. typonymis; see -nym.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
