A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

turgens,-entis (part.B): swelling, swelling out, being tumid [> L. turgeo, tursi, turgere: to swell, to be swollen or tumid, to swell out];

- primordialis tota immersa est, vertice vixdum eminulo, admodum mollis, muco semineo immaturo dilute fuliginoso turgens (S&A), the whole primordial [sc. species] is immersed, yet projecting a little, completely soft, swelling with an immature, dilute sooty-brown seminal mucus.

- calycis lobis rotundato-obtusis ciliatis tubo demum turgente vix costato superne ampliato duplo brevioribus (F. Muell.), with the lobes of the alyx rounded-obtuse, ciliate, two times shorter than the tube when finally swelling out, scarcely crested, expanded above.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
