transiens,-euntis (part.B + ad or in + acc.): passing over into, changing into, being transformed into, to be changed into anything; transient, changing [> L. transeo,-ii,-itum, 4. to go to, go through, be changed into; syn. transgredior; to be changed or transformed into something with in + acc.; to go across, traverse, to pass over; to surpass, exceed; (of time) to pass, elapse]; see change; see ephemeral;

- indusia sphaeropteroidea, ad formam cyatheoideam meniscoideamve transeuntia, indusia sphaeropteroid, passing over into the cyatheoid or meniscoid form.

- cellula ad basem laminae gradatim in mediana transeuntia, cells at the base of the lamina gradually passing over into the median.

- homo in saxum transiens, a man transformed into a stone.

- pileus a forma sphaericelloidea ad trichoideam transiens, the pileus transformed from a sphaericelloid shape into a trichoid [one].

- ovarium in stylum glabrum circiter 1 mm. longum transiens, ovary into a style glabrous about 1 mm. long passing.

- fructus cylindraceus, apice in rostrum 4–8 mm longum transiens, fruit cylindric, at the apex passing into a 4-8 mm long beak.

- petiolo brevi in lamina transeunti, with a short petiole changing to a blade.

- ver in aestatem transiens, spring passing over into summer.

- lamellae e colore initiali praepulchro in dilute argillaceo - cinnamomeum cito transeuntes, the lamellae from the initially very beautiful color quickly passing into a diluted clayey-cinnamon.

- (algae) articulis diametro plerumque aequabilis, ultimis saepe inflatis, vel in spermatoidia obovata transientibus (Braun), with the articles usually equal in diameter, the topmost ones often inflated, or transforming into spermatoidia [i.e. small cells containing gonidia].

going across:

- margine basali paene ad latus oppositum caulem transeuntem attingenti, with the basal margin almost to the opposite side going across the stem reaching.

transit: third-person singular present active indicative: [he/she] it goes over or across; changes or transforms;

- initio gustus dulcis mox in amaritudinem transit (pseudoGalen in Everett), in the beginning the taste is sweet but soon changes into a bitterness.
