A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
torulosus,-a,-um (adj.A), torulaceus,-a,-um (adj.A), toruloideus,-a,-um (adj.A): “resembling the genus Torula, Pers.” (Jackson): torulaceus,-a,-um (adj.A), toruloideus,-a,-um (adj.A); = torosus,-a,-um (adj.A), q.v.; (in fungi) “resembling the genus Torula; chainlike; necklacelike, beadlike; ‘monilioid’” (S&D).

Torula,-ae (s.f.I), a genus of yeasts with a linear-cylindric body that is moniliform or bead-like: with alternating bulges and contractions; see beer.

torula nigra: (in fungi) “a term used for ‘black yeasts’ in general (Torula nigra Marpmann)” (S&D).
