A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

tightly, closely, compactly: arcte (adv.), arte (adv.): closely, firmly, tightly; confertim (adv.), confertim (adv.), compactly, close together, densely, in a compact body; presse (adv.), solide (adv.), spisse (adv.); tenaciter (adv.), closely, firmly, strongly, tightly; opp. distanter (adv.), distantly or laxe (adv.) loosely.

- (algae) sporae minus arcte cohaerent suntque eam ob causam pericarpio communi inclusae (Agardh), the spores are less tightly coherent and they are, for this reason enclosed within a common pericarpium.

- sepalis tenaciter ad fructum adhaerentibus, with the sepals tightly adhering to the fruit.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
