A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
textilis,-e (adj.B): woven; intertwined, variously plaited or braided;

- coloniae e hyphis in coactiliis arcte textilibus compositae, colonies composed of hyphae in densely woven felts.

- plantae caespites tenuiter textiles formantes, plants forming thinly woven sods (i.e. wefts, q.v.).

- [Arundo festucoides] Densissimo caespite crescit. Ex ejus foliis aqua maceratis funes ei varia opera textilia conficiunt Arabes (Deaf.), it grows in the densest clump. The Arabs prepare from its leaves, softened in water, ropes of it and various woven works.
