tangens,-entis (part.B): touching, handling, taking hold of, to come into physical contact with; reaching, arriving at; striking, affecting [> L. tango, tetigi, tactus, 3., to touch, handle, strike, affect, take hold of; syn. tractans,-antis (part.B), q.v.); of places, to reach, arrive at, come to a place; syn. perveniens,-entis (part.B), ‘arriving at, reaching; attaining;’ to border on, be contiguous to];

- folia brevia, ea quae capsulas tangentia cito evanida, leaves short, those which are touching the capsules quickly fugacious.

- guttis oleosis ad parietem cellulae tangentibus, with oil bodies reaching the wall of the cell.
