A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Tallness, height: proceritas,-atis (s.f.III), abl. sg. proceritate; altitudo,-inis (s.f.III), abl. sg. altitudine; statura,-ae (s.f.I), abl.sg. statura: size, stature (of plants and animals) {> L. statura,-ae (s.f.I) ‘a standing upright, an upright posture; hence, height or size of the body, stature” (Lewis & Short);

- planta humilis staturae, a plant low in height (low in stature).

- producere vitem in tantam staturam, quantam permittit agricola, to bring forth a vine into such a size as the farmer allows.

- caules nec unquam staturam Scirporum majorum attingentes, the stems not ever attaining the height of the larger Scirpi.

- ad altitudinem mediam, at mid height.

- hyphae proceritate collorum distinctae, hyphae by the tallness of their necks distinct.
