A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Symbola,-ae (s.f.I), abl.sg. symbola, nom. pl. symbolae: contribution [> Gk. symbolE (s.f.I): a coming together, meeting, joining; in the plural, symbolai “were contributions for a common meal;” also, “the entertainment itself, a picnic” (Liddell & Scott); in Latin, the symbola was “a contribution of money to a feast, a share of a reckoning” (Lewis & Short)];

- symbolae Antillanae, West Indian contributions (Stearn).

- Symbolae ad floram mycologicam Australiae, Thümen, F., von, contributions to a mycological flora of Australia.

- Symbolae Licheno-Mycologicae, Licheno-Mycological Contributions.

- Symbolae botanicae, sive, Descriptiones et icones plantarum novarum aut minus cognitarum", 1832; botanical contributions, or, descriptions and pictures of plants new or less known [Karel Bořivoj Presl (1794–1852), of Prague].
