A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
suffruticosus,-a,-um (adj.A), suffruticulosus,-a,-um (adj.A): somewhat woody, woody only at the base; shrubby with half-shrubs (subshrubs); “very low and woody; diminutively shrubby” (Fernald 1950);

- flora campi gramineo-herbaceo-suffruticosi vel campi aridi graminosi, with the flora of the grass-herb-subshrub field (campo sujo) or of the dry grassy field (campo limpo).

- habitu herbaceo vel suffruticoso, with the habit herbaceous or suffruticose.

- caulis pedalis teres rectus suffruticosus (DeCandolle), stem one foot long, terete, straight, somewhat woody.

- herbae annuae aut perennes, seu suffruticosae (DeCandolle), annual or perennial herbs or somewhat woody.

- herbae rarius suffruticosa v. lignoso-scandentes (B&H), herbs more often somewhat woody or woody-climbing.
