A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Subpellis,-is (s.f.III), acc. sing. subpellem, abl. sing. subpelle, nom. pl. subpelles, dat. & abl. pl. subpellibus; see pellis,-is (s.f.III);

- subpelle e hyphis implextis gelatinosis composita, with a subpellis composed of interwoven, gelatinous hyphae.

- subpellis e cellulis vesiculosis vel pyriformibus usque ad 35 x 15 um constans, subpellis composed of vesiculose or pyriform cells up to 35 x 15 um.

- subpelle 50-60 um crassa ad septa e hyphis 4-7 um latis sed maximam partem inflatis usque 7-15 um. composita, with the subpellis 50-60 um thick, at the septa composed of hyphae 4-7 um wide but for the most part inflated to 7-15 um.
