A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
squarrulosus,-a,-um (adj.A), squarrosulus,-a,-um (adj.A); subsquarrosus,-a,-um (adj.A): squarrulose, squarrosulous, somewhat or nearly squarrose; “diminutively squarrose” (Fernald 1950), as on the tiny leaves of the branches in Sphagnum;

- folia subbifaria e basi subvaginante squarrosula (C.Muell.) the leaves somewhat in two rows sheathing from the base, somewhat squarrose [i.e. somewhat or nearly spreading at right angles].

- [Sphagnum cymbifolium; moss] var. squarrosulum foliis acutioribus patentioribus nonnullis subsquarrosis (C. Muell the variety squarrulosum with the leaves more acute, more spreading, some of them almost squarrose.

- [Sphagnum perichaetiale; moss] folia ramea squarrulosa, e basi ovali (C. Muell.) branch leaves slightly squarrose, oval from the base.
