A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Squamatio,-onis (s.f.III), abl. sg. squamatione: “a disease, consisting in a preternatural formation of rosettes of scale-shaped leaves; such as occasionally appears on the Rose-willow” (Lindley); “the unnatural formation of rosettes of scale-like leaves as in the Rose-Willow” (Jackson).

NOTE: Rose-willow, any of several willows with purple or reddish twigs; esp the Purple Willow (Salix purpurea L., Purple Osier [European]).

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
