- [moss] Peristomium duplex.- exterius e dentibus sedecim aequidistantibus, (DozyMoek), peristome double, the outer of 16 teeth of equal distance.

- [moss] peristomium interius e membrana brevissima, vix exserta, vix carinato-plicata, apice fissa in processus sedecim dentibus externis breviores iisdemque alternos (DozyMoek), the inner peristome from a very short membrane, scarcely exserted, scarcely keeled-plicate, with the apex divided into 16 processes shorter than the outer teeth and alternate with them.

- [moss] peristomium sedecim-dentatum, dentibus longis (Hooker), the peristome 16-dentate, with the teeth long.

- [moss] peristomium intra marginem oris, e dentibus constans sedecim per paria approximatis (Hooker), the peristome within the edge of the mouth, composed of 16 teeth in pairs close together.

- [moss] membrana cupuliformis, foraminibus sedecim dentibus externis oppositis, apice aperta, 16 plicata (C. Mueller), with the membrane cup-shaped, with the 16 openings opposite the outer teeth, open at the apex, 16-plicate [i.e. with 16 folds or pleats].

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
