saltim (adv.) = saltem (adv.), q.v.: “at least, at all events, anyhow (passing from a wider to a narrower or more practicable idea, with the alternative either expressed or implicit) (Glare); also (in negative or quasi-negative sentences) even, so much as (Glare);

-[Menispermaceae] semen cavitatis conforme, facie semper concavum v. saltem sulcatum (B&H), the seed the same shape as the cavity, the face always concave or even sulcate. - [alga] fructus capsularis contra (saepissime saltim) strati interioris productum mihi apparuit; hoc est, pericarpium ex strato frondis exteriore, et sporae a cellulis strati interioris oriuntur (Agardh), the capsular fruit on the other hand, appeared to me (at least most often) an extension of the interior layer; this is the pericarpium arising from the exterior layer of the frond, and the spores arising from the cells of the inner layer. - [alga] tota interior frons filis, quam in cateris generibus, densioribus tenuissimis canali subcontinuo percursis (nec ut in plerisque articulatis aut granulosa materia repletis) maximopere intricatis, sed vix anastomosantibus (Agardh), the whole inner frond with filaments, more dense than in other genera, very thin, run through with a nearly continuous [canal] (not as in [many] with joints or full of granulose material, most exceedingly intricate, but scarcely anastomosing. -ramosus autem non est, ut Petiver vult, sed creberrime saltem filamentosus. (Dill.), it is not, however, branched, as Petiver wants it, so much as it is very densely filamentose.

- saltim a retículo laxo Gigartinae longe diversis (Agardh), at least far different from the laxe reticulum of Gigartinae.
